Scent-sation: Top 5 favorite scents for a Night on the Town!

I have an OBSESSION with smells. I believe that a girl can never have too many perfumes...EVER! If anyone is ever stuck about what to get me for my birthday or Christmas I would not so subtly point them in the way of a new perfume I'd like to get and yes...I'd make them wrap it and get all excited when I open it lol. Here are my top five scents for going out:)

Elizabeth Arden Provocative Woman
A very light floral scent that is as sensual as the name sounds. I'm not in to flowery scents but this one is so subtle that you hardly notice it.

Lapidus Woman by Ted Lapidus
This has been around since 2001 but I keep repurchasing it because its smells so good! It's the one fragrance that has people inquiring about what you're wearing because they want to get it too. It is described as having: A breeze of fresh and sweet bergamot and freesia caresses us at the beginning. The heart is floral, consisted of cyclamen, orange blossom and jasmine. Base notes bring accords of patchouli, vanilla, musk and amber.

J'adore by Christian Dior
Oh J'adore! How I adore thee! The sexiness of the bottle, the sensuality of the smell...this is my POWER perfume! The one that says...I am WOMAN and I have come to rule the world

Armani Code by Giorgio Armani
My scent of seduction, this one contains a blend of italian orange, absolute, sambac jasmine, orange blossom, vanilla, honey and bitter orange guaranteed to have them sniffing and howling at the wind!

Miss Dior Cherie by Christian Dior is my # 1 sexy smell. I LOVE it!!!! It is the modernized version of John Galliano's Miss Dior and it is sexiness in a bottle!
With a citrusy freshness and a jasmine heart sprinkled with fruity notes, underscored by the elegance of patchouli, it has definitely become a new classic!

Enjoy!

We all know accessories help make an outfit. I saw this lovely cuff on the Juicy Couture website and I want it!!! :( It's funky and cute retails for about $148 let's hope they have a sale ;) I don't know exactly how I would wear it but more than likely it'll be paired up with an all black outfit and some sexy heels etc etc. :)

Wishlist *Beauty* - Very Hollywood by Michael Kors

I won't lie to you I want this perfume based on it's packaging. It looks so...............glamorous. It retails for $80 and above but to be honest with you I prefer to get the gift sets. IMO you get more for your money. Let's just hope it smells as good as it looks ;)

Wishlist *Beauty* -Clarisonic

Yes I want it! Now I'm sure you've all heard the hype Clarisonic this Clarisonic that. Hell I want Clarisonic too :( This product received great reviews on makeup alley and youtube. Although it is expensive they say it's worth the price. *shrugs* I don't know if I'm ready to shell out $195 + tax on a spinning brush but I am curious. According to the description below this is what I've wanted and more. Now I owned a brush similar to the Clarisonic years ago I beleive it was by Revlon. It basically had the same claims as the Clarisonic but it didn't live up to my expectations. Yes it cleaned but I never felt like I had that deep clean. So I want to try this one out and see if it does what it says. If so I guess it's worth the investment so we'll see.

Lip Service...because lips need love too!

Poems are written about them. Songs are sung about them. If used properly they can leave a girl breathless with her head in a tizzy...:) <----------------------and they're what people focus in on when you smile so why not keep them in tip top shape? Lips have a tendency to dry out due to the weather, lipglosses and lipsticks that can strip the lips of moisture and the constant licking that most of us get up to during the day and no one wants dry, flaky lips. So what do you do??? Exfoliate those bad boys! And there's no need to invest in expensive lip scrubs and lip exfoliates as my little secret can include things that you may already have at hand so why not give it a go? Here's what you'll need:

St. Ives Apricot Scrub

A Toothbrush

A Washcloth

Lip Balm: This one is a Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera (this is what I use, obviously you can use whichever ones you have)

And this is what you do. You apply a pea-sized amount of the scrub to the tip of your toothbrush and then gently rub on your lips for 30 seconds. Using a warm, damp washcloth you wipe away the scrub to reveal soft, smooth and flake free lips. Apply a bit of lip balm and voila! This also ensure a smooth application of your other lip products because there's nothing worse than lipstick and lipgloss over rough, chapped lips!

Happy exfoliating!

Confessions of a Junkie: The lip product edition

I'm a low-maintenance girl and apart from mascara, what's an even lower-maintenance type makeup product to use than lip stuff?? Chapstick, lip butters, lip gloss and the occasional lipstick (for when I want to feel grown) I've acquired a little collection over the years. So here's my collection (at least of those that I have with me in the UK...the rest are somewhere on some Caribbean island waiting for me to get back to them :)

xoxo Jinjer

My Absolute Super Lip Shimmer collection. I have no idea where you can get these as I bought them from my beauty shop in St. Vincent. Maybe your local beauty shops would have them. My current skin-care routine

Hey guys. It's the other half:)

I have pretty ok skin. On a bad day I have an oily T-zone and uneven skin-tone but I've been able to remain pimple-less for a long time now. I have combination skin and while that ticks me off at times, I'm comforted by the thought that this means less wrinkles when I'm older (yay).

Here's what I use on my face.

Cleanser (morning): Oil of Olay Regenerist Cleanser
This is Olay's daily thermal skin polisher and it is the TRUTH!!!! The product promises the look of a mini peel with regular use and leaves your skin baby smooth in the process. It's also self heating so it feels like you're at the spa every time you use it. It retails for about 6.00GBP at one of the drugstores that I bought it from in the UK and about 7.50 GBP (including shipping) from one Amazon seller (yeah I got two lol)

Toner: This is the first time I've used toner in years. I figured I'm getting older and need to take even more meticulous care of my skin. I picked this one up at a drugstore as well and it works wonders. It's by a company called Simple and it's the Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner. Now it's a cheapie, retailing for less than 3.00GBP but that does not make it any less effective as more expensive brands. As a matter of fact, I found it to work even better than some of the other brands of expensive toners that I've used before. It's alcohol free (very important!!) and contains chamomile (which helps to soften and soothe skin), witch hazel (which helps to tone skin and tighten pores..,which was the main reason I bought it) and is color and fragrance free! I use this twice a day and I can't see myself using anything else!

Moisturizer (Day)Oil of Olay complete all day moisture lotion SPF 15: I was introduced to Olay by a very good friend of mine who owns a beauty shop where I'm from. The one I used to use was the Olay Complete Defense with SPF 15. That was moisturizer heaven but it may have been discontinued because I haven't seen it around nor is it showing up in any online searches but I digress. The one I currently use is just as good. No longer viewed as 'stuff my grandmother uses' it moisturizes my skin and keeps it soft and supple without leaving it oil or greasy. It wears well under makeup contains antioxidants plus vitamin's E and C.

Cleanser (Night): Depending on my mood I use either the Neutrogena Oil-free Cream Cleanser or the Neutroegena Oil-free acne wash. Now Neutrogena has a reputation of being a little to harsh for most people. It can be very drying but if you moisturize well after using it, that feeling would only be temporary. I've tried many other products for pimple break-outs but NOTHING has worked the way Neutrogena does (ask Pete, he's my pesky period pimple that gets zapped in two day anytime he days make an appearance. Now I am a huge cleanser freak and there are at least three other brands of cleanser sitting on my sink top but I'll update my routine as it changes.

Moisturizer Night: I have three...yes three....that I rotate. The first one I have a love hate relationship with. I love the way it feels on my skin, love the way it tightens my pores (contains Alpha-hydroxy Acids) but I hate the fact that the when I wake up the next morning my face feels like it's been dipped in a Vat of Oil :( It's from OLAY (I see a trend) and it's their Age defying intensive nourishing night cream...if you can deal with the oil (I mean it rinses off anyway but I'm weird like that) then GET IT!!!!

The second one is Garnier Nutritionist's Night Cream and it's my most recent buy. It smells lovely and doesn't leave you with that oily feel the next day. I've only been using it for about a week so I can't say too much on it yet but I do know that I like it enough to keep using it after my Olay runs out (in like 5 days *sigh).

The third one is called Raiza Creme and it is touted as the beauty secret of Spanish Royalty. This was actually a freebie from a health store so it wasn't actually a conscious purchase. It's VERY thick and I only broke it out because it's winter and the change in climate was doing crazy thing to my skin. It has a very silicone feel to it and you're supposed to rub it into your skin until resistance is felt after which it doesn't feel like it's there at all. It moisturizes well which I love, but I haven't seen any difference (although it's supposed to work for marks and liver spots...which I don't have lol).

Make-up Removal: Before my night cleansing I use make-up removal wipes either by Simply Pure or Natura. I don't have any particularly favorite brands and I don't really have those skin reactions that most people tend to have to some products. What I do is use a wipe, remove all makeup and then when I'm about to cleanse my face I pump a bit of cleanser on a fresh wipe and use that to massage the product in and remove any excess makeup. Works like a charm and gets rid of every last bit!

So there you have it. My current skin-care routine.

Xoxo

Thou Shalt Not Be: Ashy!!!!!!!!!

Ladies ladies ladies. LADIES!!! *sigh* I can't stress enough the importance of hydrating ones skin. How often have we seen someone on the train or bus with an ashy ankle, an ashy elbow or something of the sorts. We say to ourselves 'well damn have you ever heard of lotion' then we turn and shake our heads. I will admit I've been caught out there with an ashy ankle and I apologize lol. Well I started a new regime and I felt it was my civic duty to pass the word along. Can't have my fellow sisters and brothers walking the streets just so. That would be, wrong dead wrong! First, after a shower I would pat my skin down with a towel and leave it a bit damp. I would then apply my oils. Because I'm in the winter months I choose to use olive oil. Yes it's a heavy oil but work that bad boy in. I suggest you allow it to sit and soak into skin for 10-15 minutes then apply your cremes I use Nivea creme. Work that into the skin and voila! Now I don't suggest you do this on dry skin because by then your pores are close and won't take in a much moisture. I apply the oil first because our skin with drink that up then use the creme as an extra. Hope it helps cause it damn sure helped me :D
